The Student
Who Flew Drones Over Ruins

As a junior aerospace engineering student, our founder, Peter Park, was deeply affected by the scene of the earthquake's aftermath. Driven by a desire to help, he came up with the idea of using drones to map the affected areas and provide crucial data to support in recovery efforts. This was the beginning of Angelswing.

First Project of Angelswing

The initial project involved collaborating with local organizations to deploy drones for mapping the disaster-stricken areas. This initiative provided valuable insights into the extent of the damage and demonstrated the potential of drone technology in disaster management.

2018 Palu Earthquake in Indonesia

In 2018, Angelswing expanded its mission to Indonesia by mapping the city of Palu after a massive earthquake. The team created detailed maps of an area equivalent to 10,000 soccer fields and worked closely with Indonesian disaster response agencies (BNPB, BPPT) to provide actionable data.
